Before you begin, it is recommended that you ensure your device meets the minimum system requirements for the required Acronis Backup Agent.

REMINDER! The User installing Acronis Microsoft Exchange Server Backup Agent and managing its backups MUST have Administrative rights on the Microsoft Office 365 account.

Customers can download and install the required Acronis Agent from the Customer Control Panel, however it is very strongly recommended that you login in to the Acronis Management Console and download the required Acronis Agent from there.

Note: Users MUST use the credentials created during activation to download and install their Acronis Agent from the Acronis Management Console.

In this article, Acronis Backup Agent for a Windows workstation is used as an example for capturing the steps for downloading and installing the Acronis backup agent.

Downloading the Required Acronis Backup Agent from the Acronis Management Console

1) Log in to the Acronis Management Console

2) On the Acronis Management Console’s landing page, click the Add button located on the top right side of the Acronis Management Console

3) Select the Windows Acronis Agent from the ‘Add devices’ slide out panel

4) A browser window opens and the Acronis Backup Agent for Windows immediately begins downloading

5) Click on the download

6) Confirm that you want to run the file by clicking on the Run button

7) The setup wizard is launched                    

8)  Select the language for the agent by:

1) Clicking on Setup language 2) Select a language from the list and finally 3) Click the Done button

9) (optional) If you need to customize the installation and proxy settings click on Customize installation settings

Note: If you do not need to customize the installation and proxy settings, you can skip to Step 14.

10) Enter your Acronis Management Console’s username (‘Login’) and password.

11) Click ‘Show proxy settings’ to expand the dialogue box and enter ‘Name/IP’ and ‘Port’

12) Click the SIGN IN button

13) Configure installation settings

14) Click the Install button

15) Installation begins

16) You will receive a confirmation message that the installation was successfully completed

Once the Acronis backup agent is installed on the device, the next step is to set up a backup plan.

Downloading the Required Acronis Backup Agent from the Customer Control Panel

1) Log in to the Customer Control Panel

2) Select ‘Backup’ from the left-side menu options

3) Click the DOWNLOAD AGENT button located on the ‘BACKUP AGENTS’ tile and select between ‘Download for Windows’ (to directly download Acronis Backup Agent for a Windows workstation) or ‘See All Downloads’ (to select another Acronis Backup Agent based on your requirement)

4) Follow steps based on your selection:

7) A browser window opens and the Acronis Backup Agent for Windows immediately begins downloading

9) Click on the download

10) Confirm that you want to run the file by clicking on the Run button

11) The setup wizard is launched

12)  Select the language for the agent by:
