With Acronis Backup Cloud, Ingram Micro resellers can provide backup and disaster recovery services to their end customers. Using Acronis Cloud, disks, partitions and files can be backed up to local storage or to Acronis’ secure data centers. Backing up with Acronis Cloud facilitates quick recovery of selected files, folders, applications, or of an entire system.

This Starter Guide takes you through the steps that you need to take to get your Acronis Cloud backup jobs up and running. We recommend that you go through all of these steps when you first start using Acronis so that you understand the process. After that, you can use the instructions for each individual step as a guide when required.

Purchase an Acronis Cloud subscription

The first step is to purchase an Acronis BaaS subscription through the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. Resellers can order hosted solutions through the Marketplace for new or existing customers.

Create a new Acronis Cloud account

Next, you need to log in to your customer’s Customer Control Panel to create a new Acronis BaaS user account. Creating this account will set up the credentials for logging in to the Acronis Management Console to manage the customer’s backups. See instructions for creating a new Acronis BaaS account here.

Log in to the Acronis Management Console

Now that you have created the new Acronis BaaS account, you will be able to use the credentials created to log in to the Acronis Management Console. You can either log in directly through the URL, or through the Customer Control Panel. If you need step-by-step instructions, see this article.

Download and Install the backup client

Now that you have created the new Acronis BaaS account and learned how to log in to the Acronis Management Console, you will be able to download and install the backup client through the console. See here for instructions.

Set up a new Acronis backup plan

The final step is to set up a new Acronis backup plan through the Acronis Cloud Management Console. For step-by-step instructions, see this article.

After following all of the steps outlined above, you have now set up the first Acronis backup plan for your customer. Now you can add more backup plans or purchase subscriptions and manage the service for other customers.
